We Grow Gardens and Gardeners
Club members in all Federations in the country have easy access to the established National Garden Clubs schools.
PLUS! – they have easy access to classes in the only pilot Photography Program in the country.
Three of the four NGC schools are usually held online. Those are Environmental, Gardening, and Landscape Design Schools. Each School offers four courses, usually over a two-day period. The courses may be taken in any order. There is an optional open book exam.
The fourth, Flower Show School, is always in-person, best begun with Course 1. These four courses train our judges. They also teach the rest of us how to grow to show and how to assess floral designs. The tests are optional, but they are not open book. You get to study.
Who offers what? Is it online or in person? Where do you look?
When a Federation School Chair’s registration form has been approved, the school Course will be listed on the NGC website with the contact information, and whether the course is in person or virtual. Each School lists its courses and course schedule separately.
New England Garden Clubs will list Schools available in our six Federations as they are approved.
Currently, the Connecticut Federation offers all three schools online. The Massachusetts Federation offers Landscape Design online.
Both CT and MA completed Course 4 of Flower Show School this past spring. When each schedules Course 1, probably in 2027, posts will appear at NGC, NEGC, and at each Federation’s website.
NEGC Photography Group, in partnership with Hunt’s (a family business with branches in four of our region’s six states), offers online classes with discounts for our members. As new classes are offered, they’ll be listed on the NEGC Photography Group page.
